Our Angler Education Seminar is designed to provide information and experience for women who are new to fishing, and desire to improve their angling skills.
Seminar available to ladies that have not attended a GCLA paid event.

Trip includes two nights lodging and meals.

There are two lighted piers on site for fishing and practicing your skills.

The educational experience will be a combination of topic presentation, demonstrations, and hands on experience. There will be ample time to fish and practice what you have learned.

Presentations will cover rod and reel selection, use and care; types of fishing tackle, hooks, jigs, live and artificial bait, corks; types of fishing knots and what to use when; fish identification and habitat; safety and first aid, how to handle and unhook fish; using your knowledge of structure, tides and weather conditions to improve your fishing experience, and TPWD rules and regulations.

Hands on demonstrations will include learning to use a popping cork; learning to cast a rod and reel; throwing a cast net and using a bait bucket; knot tying; using both live and artificial bait, and how to clean fish.

Bring your own rod and reel; tackle; equipment, chair, and pier cart if you have one.
