2026 Fall Madness Online Tournament

READY, SET, FISH!

We have 27 awesome ladies registered for the tournament. Fishing can start at 12:01am tonight. For this tournament, Kelsey Fort will be helping me with judging photo submissions so if you get an email from her do not disregard. Sorry this post is a little long.

The “designated item” which needs to be in your photo will be a piece of paper (or a napkin, a paper plate, a dollar bill, or you get the idea) with the following written on it verbatim. Anything different will not be accepted. Keeping it in a baggie works well (maybe with a rock in it to keep it from blowing away). Put a pen in your tackle box right now – “been there, done that”. Maybe even take a picture of it in case you have to make a new one. (See example below)

Prizes:

Only one prize per person. Prize categories will be given out in the order below and tie breakers will be determined by the angler that reached their final length earliest. We were able to add a 3rd place stringer due to the number of entries. Stringer is (1) Redfish 28" & under, (1) Speckled Trout 20” & under, (1) Black Drum 25” & under, and (1) Croaker - you do not need all 4 fish for a stringer.

1st Place Longest Stringer......$275

2nd Place Longest Stringer…..$225

3rd Place Longest Stringer……$185

Redfish with the Most Spots……$180

Longest Flounder......$180

Longest Freshwater Catfish..........$170

Important Tips & Reminders!

- Read ALL of the RULES thoroughly. See the PDF in the "Files Tab" on Facebook or on our website if you need to review them.

- All fish must be measured on a silver Check-It Stik (except "spots").

- Make sure the "designated item – paper/tag" is completely showing in the photo, including both sides of the Spots redfish.

- Make sure the nose is against the upright zero mark.

- Make sure the mouth is completely closed on your Speckled Trout and Flounder. Redfish, Black Drum, Croaker and Catfish can have the mouth open.

- Make sure 2-3 numbers are visible past the fish’s tail if possible. Pinching the tail is ok to get the longest length. A Redfish over 27” or a Trout over 19” MUST have the tail pinched in order to verify that it is within the TPWD regulations. If the tail is not pinched the fish will be disqualified.

- Check for glare especially in the bright sunshine and it is advised to take several pictures adjusting the camera with each one. Preview pictures if possible.

- Make sure your hands are not covering the nose/mouth of the fish or the numbers at the end of the ruler or your paper.

- To submit a redfish in the most spots category, take a photo of each side of the WHOLE fish with your paper. All whole distinct spots will be counted. If two or more spots overlap, it will be counted as one spot. This is the only category that can include oversize redfish. All state rules still apply: TPWD, Louisiana, or Gulf Coast state you are fishing.

- Submit all photos by email to GCLAmadness@gmail.com or if you have problems emailing the photos you can text them to 713-254-6515 in an emergency.

I will post the fish pictures in an album on Facebook and a leaderboard spreadsheet will be posted once a week (usually Tuesday evening). If you see any miscalculations or issues, please do not hesitate to contact me. I have been known to make a mistake LOL.

This is intended to be a fun tournament so don't stress too much. Just go out and have fun. Don’t get discouraged if you get something wrong on your photo or get deducted an inch for mouth not being closed. We have all “been there and done that”. Good Luck and everyone be very safe.

If you have any questions or comments, please do not hesitate to give me a call or text at 713-254-6515 (Sharon Stewart). We have some new ladies fishing for the first time so I expect questions. That actually helps me clarify the rules for future tournaments.

Good Luck, Be Safe, and Have Fun!
