KAYAK DEMO DAY & FISHING OUTING AT CHAMPIONS OUTDOORS
Aug. 9, 2020
8am - 3pm
6910 Schlitz Rd., Hitchcock TX
Have you ever wanted to try kayak fishing but don't know where to start? Kayaks are like cars. They all have different features and everyone has different needs and preferences depending on your fishing style. Jenn Nolan with Champions Outdoors has volunteered her time and business to host a demo day for GCLA. Jenn has all different kinds of kayaks including the blue sky 360, vibe shearwater, hobie, viking, and others. Her property is in the area of Louis Bait Camp and right on the water with easy access to fishing. She also has a tackle shop on site if you forget anything! This is your opportunity to try out a variety of yaks and tune in to what you like before you buy one. I know you will get as addicted as I am!
The days agenda is not yet set but will include some food, a clinic type learning opportunity as well as ample time to try out all the yaks and get some fishing in.
Jenn Nolan and Josh Mcnoughton have offered this as a free service to our group. However I feel we should give back to her. She runs her own business which has been affected as we hall have in these trying times. She runs free kids clinics to get them involved in fishing as well and is active in HOW - Heroes on the water for veterans. Please consider a minimum donation of $20 to cover food costs and the time and use of her yaks. If you are able and can give more I know we have a generous group with very big hearts. It is totally worth it to be sure when you purchase you are getting the right yak for you.
More details to follow. Times and hours subject to change but the date is set. The outing will more than likely have a maximum number of attendees but I have not yet settled that with Jenn. Please RSVP so we can plan for the appropriate amount of food. We all need some social distancing time on the water!!!
